A fibroszkóp is a flexible optical instrument used for internal visual examination of hollow organs or cavities within the body. It consists of a bundle of thin, flexible glass fibers. Each fiber acts as a conduit for light. Some fibers transmit light from an external source into the area being examined, illuminating it, while others transmit the reflected image back to the observer's eye or a camera. This allows medical professionals to view internal structures without the need for major surgery.

The term "fiberscope" is often used interchangeably with "fibroszkóp." The development of the fibroszkóp revolutionized minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. By inserting the flexible tube through natural orifices or small incisions, doctors can visualize areas like the gastrointestinal tract, respiratory system, and urinary tract.
