Feilkapping, also known as a false cut or false shuffle, is a sleight of hand technique used in card magic and gambling. Its primary purpose is to create the illusion that a deck of cards has been genuinely shuffled or cut, when in reality, the original order of the cards remains preserved. This allows the performer to control the outcome of the game or trick, often by bringing specific cards to a desired position.

The mechanics of feilkapping typically involve performing a series of seemingly legitimate cuts or shuffles. For example, a common method involves cutting the deck into several packets and then reassembling them in a way that appears random. However, the magician will subtly manipulate the packets so that they are stacked in a predetermined order, either by cutting at a specific break point or by mis-stacking the packets.
