falsafiy
Falsafiy is a term used in Malay and Indonesian to describe philosophy-related matters or to refer to a philosopher. It derives from the Arabic al-falsāfī and the Persian falsafi, terms that originally meant a person versed in philosophy and, by extension, anything pertaining to philosophy. In Malay and Indonesian, falsafiy functions as both an adjective meaning philosophical and, in certain historical or academic texts, as a noun referring to a philosopher or to philosophical schools.
In modern usage, the more common Indonesian and Malay words for philosophy are filsafat and filsuf; falsafiy
The etymology reflects a broad transregional exchange: Greek philosophical concepts were transmitted through Arabic and Persian
