falsafi
Falsafi is a term derived from the Arabic word 'falsafa', which itself originates from the Greek 'philosophia'. It broadly refers to philosophy in the Islamic intellectual tradition. Falsafi thought encompasses a wide range of philosophical inquiry that emerged and developed within Muslim societies from the medieval period onwards. It is not a monolithic entity but rather a diverse tradition that engaged with Greek philosophical heritage, particularly the works of Aristotle and Plato, and sought to integrate these ideas with Islamic theological and ethical concepts.
Key figures in the falsafi tradition include Al-Kindi, Al-Farabi, Ibn Sina (Avicenna), and Ibn Rushd (Averroes).
