The term "fémoralis" is derived from Latin and relates to the femur, the thigh bone. In anatomical contexts, it often refers to structures associated with this bone, such as muscles, nerves, or blood vessels.

The femoral artery, for instance, is a major artery in the thigh that branches off the external iliac artery. It is a primary source of blood for the leg and foot. Similarly, the femoral nerve is the largest nerve in the body and innervates the muscles of the anterior thigh, as well as providing sensory information to the skin of the anterior thigh and medial leg.
