In everyday language it can describe a person who is emotionally excited, but more common synonyms for casual use are nadšený or rozrušený. In technical contexts, excitovaný refers to a system that has absorbed energy and occupies a higher energy level than its ground state.

Etymology and forms: excitovaný comes from excitovat, with the usual Czech adjectival forms excitovaný (masculine), excitovaná (feminine), and excitované (neuter).
