In contemporary Spanish, the infinitive es tends to be preferred in declarative sentences, while ensalzan is mostly encountered in literary, theatrical, or biblical texts. The form follows the regular conjugation pattern of -zar verbs: yo ensalzo, tú ensalzas, él ensalza, nosotros ensalzamos, vosotros ensalzáis, ellos ensalzan.
