Enkeltpoler, or single poles, is a term sometimes used in physics and engineering, particularly in the context of electrical circuits and wave phenomena, to describe a localized source or sink of a field. In electromagnetism, a true single pole, such as an isolated magnetic monopole, has not been experimentally verified, although it is a theoretical concept. However, in practical electrical engineering, the term might loosely refer to a component or connection point that is considered to be at a fixed potential, often ground, and acts as a reference for other electrical signals.
