Enkeltpoler

Enkeltpoler, or single poles, is a term sometimes used in physics and engineering, particularly in the context of electrical circuits and wave phenomena, to describe a localized source or sink of a field. In electromagnetism, a true single pole, such as an isolated magnetic monopole, has not been experimentally verified, although it is a theoretical concept. However, in practical electrical engineering, the term might loosely refer to a component or connection point that is considered to be at a fixed potential, often ground, and acts as a reference for other electrical signals. This reference point allows for the measurement and manipulation of voltage differences.

In the study of wave propagation, particularly in acoustics or fluid dynamics, a punktkällan or single-point source emits waves uniformly in all directions. This idealized source is a fundamental concept for understanding wave behavior. The intensity of the waves emanating from such a source diminishes with the square of the distance from the source. While perfect punktkällan are theoretical constructs, many real-world sources can be approximated as such under certain conditions. The concept of a single pole is important for simplifying complex systems and developing theoretical models.
