Energiatõketeid, known in English as energy barriers, are fundamental concepts in various scientific fields, particularly in physics and chemistry. They represent a minimum amount of energy that must be overcome for a process to occur. This can refer to a physical obstacle, like a potential energy barrier, or a more abstract threshold that needs to be crossed.

In chemistry, energiatõketeid are crucial for understanding reaction rates. Chemical reactions require reactant molecules to collide with sufficient energy and proper orientation to break existing bonds and form new ones. The energy required for this initial step is the activation energy, which acts as an energiatõke.
