Emissioitua is a term used in some circles of physics and materials science to denote the transition of a material, surface, or device into a state of enhanced radiative emission. It is a neologism and is not yet standardized in major glossaries, but it is employed to describe conditions under which emissivity or spectral radiance increases due to intrinsic changes in the system, such as temperature, structure, or external stimulation.

Mechanisms can include thermally activated changes in optical constants, phase transitions that expose emissive phases, the creation or activation of defect or dopant levels that couple to infrared or visible bands, and light-induced processes like photoluminescence or stimulated emission. Emissioitua is typically characterized by a shift in the emissivity spectrum ε(λ) and by a rise in total radiative power consistent with Planck's law when the temperature is held constant or when the stimulation is applied.

Measurement and analysis involve spectrally resolved emissivity or radiance measurements, often using calibrated infrared detectors or Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, combined with reference blackbody calibrations. The total emission can be quantified via the Stefan–Boltzmann law when appropriate, and the spectral features are interpreted relative to material models.

Potential applications are speculative but include radiative cooling technologies, infrared camouflage, thermal sensing, and energy harvesting materials that exploit controllable emission properties. The term remains controversial in some contexts, with critics noting that many observed effects may be described by existing concepts such as emissivity change, radiative switching, or phase-change materials.
