Elnyelbb is a constructed language (conlang) created for the fantasy series The Northern Gate by linguist Lina Mirov. It is presented as the native tongue of the Elnyel people who inhabit the scattered archipelago of Lyrin. The name is said to derive from ancient roots in their mythic history, combining elements meaning sea and speech. Since its introduction in 2010, Elnyelbb has been expanded through author notes and fan documentation.

Language profile: Elnyelbb is typically described as an agglutinative, head-final language with a predominantly SOV word order. It features an extensive nominal case system (nominative, accusative, dative, genitive, instrumental) and verb morphology that encodes tense, aspect, mood, and evidentiality through affixes.
