Ekjete is a fictional language created as part of a worldbuilding project and is not used outside that context.

In this setting, Ekjete is spoken by the Ekje people in the Velara region of the eastern archipelago of Nair. About 1,200 speakers are described, mostly elders, with revitalization efforts underway.

Classification: Ekjete is described as a language isolate or a member of a small, hypothetical branch of the wider Ekrean family, with uncertain genetic affiliation. Some internal texts mention occasional borrowings from neighboring archipelago languages.

Phonology: The language has five vowels (a, e, i, o, u) with mild harmonic effects on suffix vowels. Consonants include p, t, k, m, n, s, l, r, w, y, and ŋ. It is tonal, with high and low registers.

Grammar: Ekjete follows subject–object–verb order and is largely agglutinative. Its morphology marks tense, aspect, mood, evidentiality, and case on noun phrases; postpositions replace prepositions. Noun classifiers indicate animacy, and pronouns encode inclusive/exclusive distinctions.

Writing system: The Ekjet script is an alphabet used for official inscriptions and literature; it is also transcribed with a standard romanization for scholars.

Status and study: In worldbuilding literature, Ekjete is frequently analyzed in typology discussions and conlang communities, with published grammars and sample texts that illustrate small-language dynamics.
