Eitiheä is a fictional bioluminescent lichen-like organism described in speculative ecology. It forms irregular mats on decaying conifer wood in boreal forests and glows faintly at night due to a luminescent partner within its thallus. In fiction and hypothetical studies, it is used to explore symbiosis and environmental sensing.

Eitiheä is placed among lichenized fungi in a notional family related to Parmeliaceae; the genus Eitihea is described in a 2023 fictional corpus. The name draws from Finnish roots associated with clarity and density, intended to evoke the organism’s conspicuous surface texture.

The thallus measures 2–6 cm across, with a smooth olive-brown upper surface and pale underside. It favors damp, shaded microhabitats on decaying logs of spruce and pine in cool, humid climates. Reproduction occurs by isidia and soredia; luminescence intensifies when moisture is high.

In the fictional ecosystem, eitiheä participates in wood decay and nutrient cycling, while its glow can attract or deter nocturnal organisms. It is sometimes proposed as a model for bioindicators and luminous materials. Conservation status is not applicable in the fictional context.
