Eggja is a fictional municipality situated on the western coast of the country of Norlandia. With a population of approximately 3,500 residents, it lies within the district of Fjellfjord and is noted for its rugged shoreline and historic lighthouse, the Eggja Head, which has been operational since 1874. The town's coordinates place it within the temperate marine climate zone characteristic of the Scandinavian Peninsula, providing mild, wet winters and cool summers.

The first recorded settlement in the Eggja area dates to the early 8th century, when Norse explorers established a small fishing community.
