eenquitards
Eenquitards is a contested neologism that has surfaced in online spaces to insult someone perceived as having given up or failed to persevere. It is not a standard term in Dutch or English and is largely encountered in informal online discourse. The word is a portmanteau that appears to combine the Dutch definite article 'een' with 'quitards', itself derived from 'quit' plus a widely condemned slur aimed at people with intellectual disabilities. Because of its incorporation of that slur, the term is considered highly offensive and is categorized as ableist language. Usage tends to be hostile, performed in memes, taunts, or flame wars on forums, gaming chats, and certain social-media subcultures. Critics view it as harmful harassment that reinforces stigma toward people with disabilities, whereas some proponents argue it is used for abrasive humor or rhetorical effect. Many online platforms prohibit content containing such language. In educational or professional contexts, the term is generally rejected and replaced with neutral language that describes quitting behavior without demeaning groups of people. The term's rarity and broad condemnation mean it has limited usage outside niche online communities.
