drenaaiväljakud
Drenaaiväljakud, often translated as drainage fields or leach fields, are a crucial component of many decentralized wastewater treatment systems, particularly in areas without access to municipal sewer networks. These systems are designed to safely dispose of and treat effluent, which is the liquid wastewater discharged from a septic tank or other primary treatment unit. The primary function of a drenaaiväljak is to allow the treated wastewater to percolate through the soil, where natural biological and physical processes further purify it before it reaches groundwater.
A typical drenaaiväljak consists of a network of perforated pipes laid within a gravel-filled trench or bed.
