Docktostocktid is a logistics performance metric that measures the elapsed time from when goods arrive at a warehouse dock to the moment those goods are available as stock in the warehouse inventory. The term originates from Swedish logistics practice and is often referred to in English as dock-to-stock time. It captures the speed of the inbound process and the readiness of inventory for picking and fulfillment.

Calculation and scope: The metric is usually computed as the average time between the receiving timestamp at the dock (goods receipt) and the time the item is recorded as stock in the inventory management system and made available for use. It can be reported in hours or days and can be calculated per unit, per pallet, or per shipment, and at item, batch, or order level. It typically combines several activities into a single measure.

Constituent activities: Dock-to-stock time covers receiving inspection, quality checks if required, put-away planning, moving goods to storage locations, actual put-away into the correct warehouse zone, and updating the ERP/WMS to reflect stock availability.
