Dissipoida is a taxonomic order of fungi that was formerly recognized. It was established by the mycologist Benny Ryvarden in 1978 to group certain species within the Basidiomycota. The order was characterized by fungi with hymenia that were exposed at maturity and typically polyporoid or poroid in appearance. However, the classification of Dissipoida has undergone significant revisions in modern mycology.

Through molecular phylogenetic studies, many of the species originally placed in Dissipoida have been reclassified into other established orders, primarily within the Polyporales. These genetic analyses revealed that the morphological characteristics previously used to define Dissipoida were not always indicative of close evolutionary relationships. Consequently, the order Dissipoida is now largely considered obsolete by many mycologists and is not typically used in current taxonomic systems.

The species that were once assigned to Dissipoida are now distributed among various families based on their genetic makeup. This reevaluation highlights the dynamic nature of fungal taxonomy, where advances in molecular techniques continually refine our understanding of fungal diversity and evolutionary history. While the name Dissipoida may still be encountered in older literature, contemporary research and taxonomic treatments no longer recognize it as a valid order.
