Dimensionsanalysen, also known as dimensional analysis or dimensionality reduction, are mathematical techniques used to reduce the number of variables under consideration by obtaining a set of principal variables. These principal variables are linear combinations of the original variables and are uncorrelated. The primary goal of dimensionsanalysen is to simplify the data while retaining as much of the original information as possible.

The most common method of dimensionsanalysen is Principal Component Analysis (PCA).
