diferencas

Diferencas refers to the property that distinguishes two or more objects, ideas, or phenomena so that they are not identical. They can be qualitative, indicating differences in category, presence or absence, or attributes, or quantitative, indicating differences in magnitude, amount, or degree. In Portuguese, the correct spelling is diferenças, with an acute accent on the first e; diferencas (without the accent) is a nonstandard form that may appear in contexts where diacritics are omitted.

In mathematics, the term difference has several uses. It can denote the result of subtracting one value from another, the difference between two quantities. In set theory, the difference between sets consists of the elements that belong to one set but not to the other. In geometry and analysis, differences give rise to notions such as distance and metric, which quantify how far two objects are from each other.
