Other types of detergent inhibitors might include chelating agents that bind to metal ions in hard water, which can otherwise interfere with detergent performance and cause soap scum. Enzyme stabilizers can also be considered inhibitors in a broader sense, as they protect the activity of enzymes in enzymatic cleaners from degradation.
