Desorbiert is the past participle and adjective of desorbieren in German, used in scientific contexts to describe a species that has been removed from a surface by desorption. In surface science and related fields, a desorbiertes or desorbierter species has transitioned from an adsorbed state on a solid surface to the surrounding phase, such as a gas or liquid.

Desorption is the process opposite to adsorption: adsorbates detach from a solid surface and enter the gas or liquid phase. It is a central concept in surface science, catalysis, environmental chemistry and sensor technology. Desorption can occur through several mechanisms, including thermal desorption (driven by heating and described by Arrhenius-type kinetics), photo-desorption (triggered by photons), and chemical desorption (products released as a result of surface reactions).
