Cloud-based database technologies have also become prevalent, offering managed services that reduce the burden of infrastructure management and provide on-demand scalability. These solutions can be relational or NoSQL and are accessed over the internet. The choice of database technology depends on factors such as data type, volume, velocity, performance requirements, and the specific application's needs.
