Csomópontokantinódusok, often translated as node-antinode, refers to specific points within a standing wave. In a standing wave, energy is neither propagated along the medium nor is there a net transfer of energy. Instead, the wave appears to be stationary, with fixed points of maximum and minimum amplitude.

The points of maximum amplitude are called antinodes. At these locations, the particles of the medium oscillate with the greatest displacement from their equilibrium position. Conversely, the points of minimum amplitude are called nodes. At the nodes, the particles of the medium remain essentially stationary, exhibiting zero displacement from their equilibrium position.

The distance between two consecutive nodes is always half a wavelength (λ/2), and the distance between two consecutive antinodes is also half a wavelength. Crucially, a node and an adjacent antinode are separated by a quarter wavelength (λ/4). This characteristic spacing is fundamental to the formation and understanding of standing waves in various physical systems, including vibrating strings, air columns in musical instruments, and electromagnetic fields. The presence and location of these nodes and antinodes are dependent on the boundary conditions of the system.
