Csillapodásával is a Hungarian term that translates to "its sparkling" or "its twinkling" in English. It refers to the phenomenon of celestial bodies, primarily stars, emitting light in a way that appears to flicker or shimmer. This visual effect is not inherent to the stars themselves but is caused by the Earth's atmosphere.

The twinkling of stars is a result of the bending of starlight as it passes through different layers of the atmosphere, which have varying densities and temperatures. These atmospheric disturbances cause the light rays to deviate slightly, leading to rapid changes in the apparent brightness and position of the star. This phenomenon is also known as astronomical scintillation.

The degree of csillapodásával is influenced by several factors, including the star's position in the sky (stars closer to the horizon appear to twinkle more intensely due to longer atmospheric paths), atmospheric conditions (turbulence and temperature gradients), and the observer's location.
