Családját is a Hungarian grammatical form that refers to the definite-object version of the noun család (family) when it expresses a third-person possession. It literally means “his/her/its family” as a definite object in a sentence. The form is created by combining two suffixes: the third-person possessive suffix -ja/-je, which yields családja (his/her/its family), and the definite-object suffix -t, which turns it into családját. In other words, the same base word can appear as családja (with no definite object) or as családját when the speaker treats the family as a known, specific object of the verb.
