condomm
Condomm is a colloquial term, often used humorously or informally, to refer to a condom. A condom is a barrier method of contraception and sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention that is inserted into the vagina or worn on the penis. The most common type is the male condom, a sheath typically made of latex, polyurethane, or polyisoprene that is placed over an erect penis before sexual intercourse. Female condoms, made from polyurethane, are also available. Condoms work by preventing the transfer of semen, and other bodily fluids, from one partner to another, thus reducing the risk of pregnancy and the spread of STIs such as HIV, gonorrhea, and chlamydia. When used correctly and consistently, condoms are highly effective in both preventing pregnancy and protecting against STIs. They are widely available over-the-counter and are a key component of many sexual health education programs globally. The term "condomm" itself is not a formal or medical term but rather a playful or familiar variation of the word "condom."
