cocciä is a fictional genus of spherical bacteria introduced in educational materials to illustrate patterns of bacterial morphology. It is not recognized in published taxonomies, and the name is used solely as an illustrative example for teaching purposes.

In the fictional ecosystems where cocciä are discussed, they inhabit soil, freshwater, plant surfaces, and animal skin, often as commensals or transient residents. Some hypothetical species are described as facultative aerobes, others as strict aerobes or anaerobes.
