Classassociated is an adjective used to describe something that is linked to, related to, or characteristic of a particular class or category. It is not a fixed, field-specific term but is employed across disciplines to indicate a relationship with a defined class label or social category.

In machine learning and data analysis, class-associated features are input attributes whose values differ systematically across classes and therefore help distinguish one class from another. Identifying such features is a central aim of feature selection and model interpretation, with methods that include mutual information, chi-squared tests, and information gain. Caution is advised to avoid relying on class-associated attributes that reflect sensitive or protected information in ways that could entrench bias.

In sociology, economics, and related fields, class-associated phenomena describe patterns that correlate with social class, such as disparities in income, education, or health outcomes. Establishing whether a relationship is causal requires careful study design and controls.

In linguistics and grammar, the idea may appear in discussions of noun class systems or verb-classification schemes, where certain properties are associated with grammatical categories.
