Circulating Tissue refers to a composition of bone grafting material that combines cancellous bone with a BMP (Bone Morphogenetic Protein) carrier. The BMP carrier can be in the form of a collagen matrix, demineralized bone matrix, or a synthetic matrix. The goal of circulating tissue is to provide a scaffold for new bone growth and increase the chances of successful bone fusion.

The use of circulating tissue in orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures has gained popularity in recent years. Its application is typically in spinal fusion, long bone fractures, and bone defects. By combining cancellous bone with a BMP carrier, the treatment aims to accelerate the natural bone healing process.

The constituent elements of circulating tissue are biological in nature, as the cancellous bone and BMP carrier are derived from natural sources. This contrasts with synthetic bone grafting materials, which are man-made, and may have a distinct purpose and functionality.
