Chromalike filters and surfaces aim for wide color gamut and perceptual richness under specific illumination; in displays, chromalike panels seek faithful or enhanced chroma within device limits.

In materials science, chromalike finishes or pigments produce color effects resembling chroma without relying on structural coloration, or they use controlled microstructures to adjust reflectance and transmittance across wavelengths. Such finishes are common in paints, inks, and decorative coatings.

Because chromalike is subjective, assessment relies on perceptual testing and colorimetry rather than a single standard.
