Drilled holes or slots help to dissipate heat and remove brake dust and water from the pad surface, which can improve braking performance, especially in wet conditions or under heavy use.

Over time, brakediscs wear down and can develop grooves or become warped. They need to be inspected regularly and replaced when they reach a minimum thickness or show signs of significant wear. The proper functioning of the brakedisc is crucial for safe vehicle operation, as it is a primary component in the braking system responsible for converting kinetic energy into heat.
