Boðverð is the price at which a market participant is willing to buy a security. It represents the bid in the bid–ask quotation in a financial market. In a live order book, the highest bid price among outstanding buy orders is the boðverð. The corresponding ask price, or sölverð, is the price at which sellers are prepared to sell, and the difference between them is the bid–ask spread.
