Sölverð is the Icelandic term for the price at which a product or service is offered for sale. It represents the amount a seller asks a customer to pay and is typically the figure displayed on price tags and in advertisements. In retail practice, sölverð may include value-added tax (virðisaukaskattur, VSK) or be shown without tax, depending on local display conventions and the context of the sale.

The sölverð is distinct from other prices such as innkaupaverð (purchase price) or kostnaðarverð (cost price), which refer to the cost to obtain or produce the goods rather than the price charged to consumers. In markets, the sölverð can be adjusted through discounts, promotions, seasonal sales, or bulk pricing, resulting in a final price paid by the customer that may differ from the original sölverð.

Regulatory and consumer-protection frameworks in Iceland require price information to be clear and not misleading. Advertised sölverðs should reflect the actual price charged at the point of sale, and price tags and receipts should accurately disclose any taxes or applicable discounts.
