Common uses include promotional add-ons for new releases, study aids, field guides, author notes, or reading-group questions. A bookbooklet may function as a companion piece, an index, a sample of future content, or a stand-alone mini-publication intended to extend the reader’s experience.

In production, bookbooklets are typically produced by the same publisher as the main work or as a separate line item. They can be distributed with purchases, at events, or as digital downloads.
