A Bgirl, or B-girl, is a female dancer who performs breakdancing, a street dance style that emerged as part of hip-hop culture. The term B stands for break, and B-girl denotes the female counterpart to the B-boy. The practice began in the 1970s in the Bronx, New York, and spread internationally in the 1980s and beyond.

B-girls train in core breakdancing elements, including toprock (upright footwork), downrock (floor footwork), power moves (acrobatic spins and lifts), and freezes. They emphasize musicality, personal style, coordination, strength, and endurance. Safety and floor awareness are important due to the physical demands of moves.

Historically, breakdancing was male-dominated, but B-girls have gained visibility and influence through crews and battles, contributing to the growth of the art form. Participation in international competitions, workshops, and social events has broadened opportunities for female dancers.

Major competitions and showcases provide platforms for B-girls. Red Bull BC One and other events have B-girl divisions or exhibitions, along with sessions at Freestyle Session and World B-Boy Championships. Judging typically considers technique, creativity, variety of moves, musicality, and stage presence.
