Battlespace is a military term used to describe the environment, including the physical domains of land, sea, air, space, and cyberspace, in which military forces conduct operations. It also encompasses the information environment—communications, electromagnetic spectrum, and open-source and adversary information flows—and the cognitive and political factors that influence action. The battlespace is dynamic, contested, and extended beyond geographic lines as operations involve tempo, distance, time, and simultaneous actions across multiple domains.
