barréis

Barréis is the second-person plural present-subjunctive form of the Spanish verb barrer, meaning to sweep. It occurs in clauses that express doubt, desire, necessity, or possibility when the subject is vosotros, the informal plural “you” used in parts of Spain and some other regions. The form is created from the infinitive barrer plus the present-subjunctive ending -éis for the vosotros form, with the accent on the e to indicate stress: barréis.

Usage notes: In most of Latin America, the vosotros form is not used, and ustedes are used instead. The corresponding present-subjunctive form for ustedes would be barren. Consequently, barréis is primarily found in peninsular Spanish and in regional writing or speech that employs vosotros.
