Autoinjektort, or auto-injector in English, is a compact prefilled injection device designed to deliver a single fixed dose of medication with a simple activation. The device is intended for use by non-medical people in situations where rapid administration is critical, such as severe allergic reactions or other conditions that benefit from a readily available, premeasured dose outside a clinical setting.

The most widely known use is epinephrine auto-injectors for treatment of anaphylaxis. They are designed for rapid, layperson administration in emergencies. A typical device is spring-loaded; pressing it against the outer thigh triggers needle deployment and dose delivery within seconds, after which the needle is shielded and the device is discarded. Autoinjectors are manufactured to minimize the risk of accidental activation and to provide clear indicators of dose delivery or expiration.

Other medications are delivered by auto-injectors in specialized contexts, but epinephrine remains the best-known example. In some regions, auto-injectors are available for additional drugs, though these are less common and often limited to specific indications or patient groups.
