Auktojo is a fictional planetary setting created for a science fiction franchise by author M. L. Kestrel. It first appeared in the 2015 novel The Shores of Auktojo and has since been developed in sequels and related media. The planet is described as lying in the inner region of a distant star cluster, with a varied climate and a rich maritime-based culture.

Geography and environment

Auktojo features three major biomes: temperate coastlines with extensive archipelagos, misty highlands in the interior, and shallow coral-reef seas that surround many coastal cities. The planet’s gravity is slightly lower than Earth’s, around 0.95 g, and the atmosphere is broadly Earth-like, enabling easy human visitation with minimal adaptation. Language and writing

Auktojoan is a constructed language developed for the series, featuring agglutinative morphology and a subject–object–verb sentence structure. The writing system combines logograms with an alphabetic script designed to reflect coastal and maritime motifs.

The Auktojo setting has expanded through sequels, a companion handbook, and a tabletop RPG module. It is noted for its detailed world-building, nautical themes, and interest among fans of speculative maritime fiction.
