arylCCPh
arylCCPh is an informal chemical fragment notation used to indicate an aryl (Ar) moiety connected through a two-carbon sequence to a phenyl (Ph) group. The notation is not standardized and appears in different contexts with slightly different structural meanings depending on the author or software: it can represent an aryl–C≡C–Ph (diarylalkyne), an aryl–CH=CH–Ph (diarylalkene), or an aryl–CH2–CH2–Ph (diarylalkane) connectivity. Because of this ambiguity, interpretation relies on surrounding context such as reaction type, mechanism, or explicit structural identifiers.
In organic synthesis and catalysis the general motif Ar–C–C–Ph recurs in classes of compounds including diarylalkynes
In cheminformatics and reaction templates, a compact label like arylCCPh can be used to simplify pattern matching
