Armata refers to a Russian armored fighting vehicle platform developed by Uralvagonzavod for the Russian Armed Forces. Conceived as a modular, next-generation family, Armata is intended to underpin a new generation of main battle tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and support vehicles that share common automotive, armor, and electronics architectures. A core design principle is an unmanned turret paired with a protected crew compartment, enabling advanced survivability and crew automation.
