Anidulafungin is an antifungal medication belonging to the echinocandin class. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of beta-(1,3)-D-glucan, a crucial component of the fungal cell wall. This inhibition leads to cell lysis and fungal death. Anidulafungin is administered intravenously.

It is primarily used for the treatment of candidiasis, a fungal infection caused by Candida species. This includes invasive candidiasis, such as candidemia, and other forms of serious Candida infections. Anidulafungin is effective against a range of Candida species, including those that may have developed resistance to azole antifungals.
