Anestézia is a medical specialty focused on the administration of anesthesia, a combination of medications used to prevent pain and consciousness during surgical procedures and other medical interventions. The primary goal of anesthesiology is to ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the process. Anesthesiologists, the physicians who specialize in this field, are highly trained in managing a patient's vital functions, such as breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure, while under the effects of anesthetic agents.

There are generally three main types of anesthesia: general anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and local anesthesia. General anesthesia induces a state of unconsciousness, rendering the patient unaware of the procedure. Regional anesthesia blocks pain in a specific area of the body, such as an arm or leg, while the patient remains awake or sedated.
