Amülaasitaseme refers to the concentration of amylase in a biological sample, typically blood or urine. Amylase is an enzyme produced primarily by the pancreas and salivary glands that plays a crucial role in the digestion of carbohydrates, breaking down starches into simpler sugars. Measuring amylase levels is a common diagnostic tool in medicine.

Elevated amylase levels in the blood can indicate various medical conditions, most notably acute pancreatitis, an inflammation of the pancreas. Other causes of increased amylase may include salivary gland issues, such as mumps or salivary stones, and certain other abdominal conditions like bowel obstruction or perforation.
