alkydmalinger
Alkydmalinger, known in English as alkyd paints, are oil-based coatings whose binder is an alkyd resin. The resin is produced by esterifying polyols with fatty acids or drying oils and then cross-linking during the drying process. The resulting film is dissolved in organic solvents to create a brush- or spray-applied coating. Alkydmalinger are commonly used on wood, metal, and previously painted substrates where a hard, abrasion-resistant finish is desirable.
Compared with typical water-based paints, alkydmalinger offer superior hardness, wear resistance, and a smooth, glossy appearance,
