Alctuii is a genus of extinct marine arthropods known from Middle Triassic fossil assemblages. Members of this genus are characterized by a compact carapace with lateral spines, a slender thorax, and paddle-like limbs that suggest a life adapted to soft-substrate environments and scavenging behavior. The compound morphology and jointed appendages provide a reference point for discussions of early crustacean diversification in post-extinction marine ecosystems.

Taxonomy and species placement within the broader classification remain debated in the paleontological literature. Alctuii is typically placed in a hypothetical family, Alctuiidae, within an order of similarly named crustacean-like arthropods used in paleoecological reconstructions. The genus currently includes three described species: Alctuii primus, Alctuii secundus, and Alctuii tertius, each distinguished by subtle variations in carapace shape and limb structure.

Discovery and distribution notes indicate that Alctuii fossils have been recovered from marine sedimentary rocks in regions of the European Alps and adjacent basins. Dating places specimens in the Middle Triassic, approximately 240 million years ago. The geographic record remains centered in Europe, with occasional material reported from nearby basinal areas, helping to illuminate regional patterns of marine recovery after Permian–Triassic events.

Etymology and naming conventions reflect common practice in crustacean nomenclature. The genus name Alctuii combines a locality-based toponym with a suffix used to form taxonomic names, while the species epithets primus, secundus, and tertius indicate the order of description.
