alAmrah is a term that primarily refers to a lesser pilgrimage in Islam, distinct from the Hajj, which is the major annual pilgrimage. Al-Amrah, often translated as "the visit" or "the lesser pilgrimage," is a voluntary act of worship that can be performed at any time of the year. It involves performing the same rituals as Hajj, including circumambulating the Kaaba (Tawaf) and walking between the hills of Safa and Marwah (Sa'i), but on a smaller scale and without the full array of rituals and spiritual significance associated with Hajj.

The concept of al-Amrah is often associated with the Umrah, which is the specific Arabic term for this lesser pilgrimage. While sometimes used interchangeably, "al-Amrah" can also broadly refer to any act of visiting or performing devotional acts at sacred sites. However, in common Islamic parlance, it is most frequently understood as the Umrah. Performing Umrah is considered a highly rewarding act and is believed to expiate sins committed between one Umrah and the next. Muslims often undertake Umrah to draw closer to Allah, seek forgiveness, and experience spiritual rejuvenation. It is a significant spiritual journey for many Muslims who may not be able to perform the Hajj due to various reasons.
