Agosto is the eighth month of the Gregorian calendar. In many Romance languages, including Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian, the month is called agosto or agosto; in English it is August. The name ultimately derives from the Latin Augustus, an honorific title given to the first Roman emperor, Octavian.
